Lanissa Spoon is a woman full of beauty, grace and passion, and we are lucky enough to have her serving as a writer here at Stand Unshaken! She has used her passion for the Lord, women, and community to create an incredible ministry called Becoming Ministries (trust me- you’ll want to be part of this!) Keep reading to learn more about her and the positive impact she is making on the world!

1. Tell us a bit about yourself!

HI friends! I'm a 20something who adores Jesus, all the pasta, re-runs of Friends (& daily quoting them), Theology and leading worship with my hubs haha. I am so passionate about empowering young women with tools, resources & practical encouragement so that they can learn how to pursue God deeply, know their way to His presence and follow Him well where they are.  A little more about me: I have a Bachelors Degree in Ministerial Leadership & completed an incredible internship at Celebration Church's School of Ministry that changed my life. Also, I'm a FL girl born & raised and the beach is my happyyy place. & Disney. Always Disney. haha

2. What do you do for work?

I own a Small Business called Becoming Ministries & it is my biggest joy and honor to serve that community of friends. We create blogs, practical resources & digital products to celebrate & empower young women to fully buy into the process God has for them and learn how to encounter & follow Him well right where they are. It is the BEST community & is my ultimate dream job! :)

3. What inspires you to create?

This is what makes me come ALIVE & God is worth it! That's my why. Because what God wants to do in your life is worth it, who HE is and how that changes everything for us- is worth it. It's freedom & life & hope & a future. And I believe so powerfully in the beautiful work God wants to do through young women's lives, as they learn how to fix their gaze on Him and use what they have for the Glory of God and the good of others that I want to do everything I can to help them lean into Him.

4. What’s the biggest lesson you’ve learned as an entrepreneur?

I'm just starting this entrepreneur (like I still have to spell check that word haha) adventure & so far the biggest things I have learned are 1) done is better than perfect and 2) this isn't about me. It's about truly helping, serving & loving my audience for the glory of God! THAT'S how you make an impact.

5. Favorite bible verse/quote?

My current fav verse- "He brought me to the banqueting house, and his banner over me was love." Song of Solomon 2:4

Quote- Be the first-class version of yourself, not a second class version of someone else!

6. Favorite companies to support and shop from?

I love clean beauty & skincare brands (my favs are Primally Pure & Beauty Counter). Also, I love Hosanna Revival & any cute local Small Business!

7. What do you do when you are lacking motivation?

I LOVE being outside, so I will go outside & soak in the sunshine. :) And then surrender what I'm doing to the Lord & remember my why. Also, I love listening to any podcast by Jenna Kutcher or Emily Freeman!

8. If you had to move to another country for the rest of your life, which one would you pick and why?

ITALY! My hubs & I recently traveled to Italy for 3wks (I am 50% Italian) and it was a dream. I love the Italian culture of generosity, community and living in a way of rest and enjoying the things that matter. Also, THE FOOD is seriously the besttttt.

9. Who are some people that you admire in your industry?

I truly love Well-Watered Women & Jess Connolly. They inspire me so much and create such incredible Resources to help women grow in the Lord & step into who they were created to be.

10. Best piece of advice that you’ve been given?

God is most concerned about the woman of God we BECOME in the process of our life than any end goal, dream or career.
